Financial fear

I think we all have financial fear, it’s common especially since we see so many "flexing" with their money or we see millionaires/billionaires or even things we want and for some reason it has been ingrained into us that we can’t get there or it is extremely unlikely to get there. Trying to work towards your success in a society and generation that feels so 'money hungry' can sometimes be unnerving and disheartening. But financial fear doesn’t only cover the fear of not becoming rich, I think a lot of the fear we see is in regards to the money we do have in the present moment, the money we are making and why we feel like we can’t spend it or that more money won’t come to us and so out of fear we don't buy things we want or do things we do because we feel as if once that money is gone then it's gone but that just isn’t true. We forget that money is printed and circulated everyday, we as humans have put emphasis and meaning on money (and don't take it out of context, I love money as much as the next person, I work, I save and I also know that spending all of your money is not wise). But I read this idea in “You Are a Badass” and it changed my life; if we continue to live in a bubble of financial fear i.e holding on to as much money as possible, not spending on what we’d like (or what we consider a luxury) etc. then we are basically telling ourselves and the world that we don’t believe there is much more of that money coming our way and in a sense we continue to “Play small” when in actuality, spending money on something we want can actually motivate us to work harder and get the money that we need & that positive cycle will continue. And when I read this idea  years ago it completely changed my mentality and it still is scary because it becomes so normal to live in fear especially growing up with it, seeing it so often and having to break through those notions that have been enforced into our minds & try to hold on to as much money as possible but in the interest of putting the theory to work and not only allowing myself to be a little freer with my money (smartly so) but allowing myself to release the negative energy that burdened me my whole life when it came to money and being worried of not making or having any if I spend, I find that it helps me not to play small anymore and puts me in a position of financial faith because I trust that my money will continue to grow and come to me (of course, yes, we still have to work for it) even if I spend a little more than I "should".

What are your thoughts on financial fear? Do you have it?
